I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW-CA #74175) with over 23 years of clinical psychotherapy experience. I received my Masters of Clinical Social Work (MSW) from the Smith College School for Social Work in 1999. I earned my BA at The New School for Social Research, majoring in liberal arts, with a focus on psychology and psychoanalytic studies. Since graduating from Smith College, I have worked as a psychotherapist, supervisor, consultant, and educator. I began my career working in the community outpatient mental health clinic setting for several years before beginning my private practice in 2002. I have enjoyed serving as an adjunct faculty to the Smith College School for Social Work and also facilitating continuing education seminars for their professional development program (CE's). As a supervisor I enjoy helping colleagues, whether a new professional or a seasoned advanced practitioner, hone and deepen their clinical knowledge and skills.
My private practice is located in Carmel CA, serving the greater Monterey Peninsula Bay area. I provide individual, couples, family, and group therapy. I work with adults, adolescents (including pre-teens), and families. I currently have limited availability for my work with young children aged 3-11 (please inquire about availability). While I have several "specialty" areas of training and focus, I consider myself a generalist, providing psychotherapeutic services to address many life problems, mental health disorders, and interpersonal issues. In addition, I am available for clinical supervision, consultation, and have several training seminars that are available for presentation. I am a frequent speaker at public speaking events, often focusing on mental health, interpersonal/relational, and self-growth topics.
